SmartTrim Prop is being designed to help propeller shops replace long trial-and-error cycles with standardized customer testing, permissioned performance data, structured recommendations and measurable before-and-after results.

A different service model

Send the customer a logger instead of asking them to describe the boat.

A participating shop could own SmartTrim Prop kits and loan them to customers. The customer follows guided on-water tests, the session synchronizes to SmartTrim Cloud, and the shop reviews a standardized dataset before recommending a propeller or modification.

The same professional workflow is intended to work with customer-owned SmartTrim Logger or SmartTrim Prop hardware when the owner explicitly grants the shop access to selected data.

The workflow

1. Baseline: the customer records guided runs with the current setup.

2. Review: the participating prop shop sees the shared vessel configuration, run data and customer notes.

3. Recommendation: the tuner proposes a propeller change, modification or next test based on the measured evidence.

4. Retest: the customer repeats the standardized test so the result of the recommendation is preserved in the same performance history.

A future marketplace built around permissioned vessel data.

The longer-term SmartTrim Prop model includes a professional subscription layer for participating propeller specialists. Customers would remain in control of which shop can access their vessel or test-session data.

More completed tests can create better context for the next recommendation.

With appropriate permissions, governance and de-identification, aggregated performance data could help participating professionals understand how comparable hull, propulsion and propeller combinations have performed in real conditions. The objective is not to replace an experienced propeller tuner, but to give that tuner better evidence.

Does SmartTrim replace a propeller specialist?

No. The professional concept is designed to give experienced tuners structured data, customer context and a measurable feedback loop for their recommendations.

Who owns the customer data?

The intended platform design keeps customer access and sharing controls explicit. Professional access would be permissioned and revocable rather than assumed.

Can prop shops join now?

SmartTrim Prop is currently in pilot testing. Prop shops interested in testing loaner workflows or helping shape the professional portal can contact Walker Marine Technologies through the pilot program.

Will shops be able to see aggregate market data?

That is a future platform concept, not a current feature. Any professional benchmarking layer would require appropriate customer permissions, privacy controls and aggregation or de-identification practices.
