SmartTrim Logger is the field-data foundation for SmartTrim. The current pilot records synchronized IMU and GPS data, guided maneuver labels, prop-test samples, setup metadata and operator notes so each run can be analyzed with its real context intact.
Current pilot system
The pilot logger records ICM-42688 inertial data and USB GPS/NMEA data locally while a phone-based interface guides the tester through setup and repeatable maneuvers. Every CSV row can carry the active wizard step and phase so later analysis knows what the boat was doing when the sensor data was captured.

Guided field testing
The current workflow supports guided steps for calibration, acceleration onto plane, steady cruise, engine-trim changes, trim-tab tests, controlled turns, light-chop operation and deceleration/off-plane behavior, with free logging available outside the wizard.
That structure helps distinguish one operating state from another and creates cleaner inputs for future analysis, model development and vessel-specific calibration.
Where the platform is going
The current pilot retrieves completed logs from the logger after a session. The product roadmap moves that workflow into a native SmartTrim app and authenticated SmartTrim Cloud portal.

No. The current pilot logger uses a dedicated IMU and USB GPS and can operate independently of the vessel's NMEA 2000 network. Broader vessel-network integration is part of the SmartTrim roadmap, not a requirement for today's field logger.
No. The pilot records locally. The future synchronization model is intentionally offline-first so logging continues even when cellular or marina Wi-Fi is unavailable.
The planned native app and SmartTrim Cloud portal will move completed sessions into an authenticated customer environment for download, dashboards, reporting, comments and permissioned collaboration.
Logger provides the underlying field-data workflow. SmartTrim Prop applies a structured RPM/GPS speed sampling process and propeller-specific setup information so performance changes can be compared and eventually reviewed with participating propeller specialists.
