Privacy at SmartTrim.ai
How Walker Marine Technologies LLC uses website data, analytics, advertising technologies and information you choose to provide.
Effective and last updated: September 17, 2026
You can change optional analytics and advertising choices at any time. Browser Global Privacy Control signals are honored for advertising, sale/sharing and targeted-advertising opt-outs where applicable.
1. Who we are
SmartTrim.ai is operated by Walker Marine Technologies LLC, a U.S.-based marine technology company. This policy applies to the public SmartTrim.ai website and related website forms and communications. SmartTrim Logger and SmartTrim Prop pilot/testing systems may present separate terms and privacy disclosures because they can collect vessel, location, motion and test-session data that is not collected merely by browsing this website. As authenticated SmartTrim Cloud and native-app services are introduced, this policy may be expanded or supplemented with product-specific notices.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you contact us, join a pilot inquiry, request information, or otherwise submit a form, we may collect your name, email address, company, vessel or operation details, areas of interest, message content, and any other information you choose to provide.
Website and device information
Depending on your privacy choices and applicable law, we and service providers may collect IP address, approximate geographic area, browser and device type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, interactions, timestamps, campaign parameters, identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies, and diagnostic/security information.
Product, vessel and session information
When you participate in a SmartTrim Logger or SmartTrim Prop pilot, or later use connected SmartTrim services, we may collect information associated with a vessel or test session such as GPS/location and timestamps, speed and course, inertial motion data, guided event labels, vessel and propulsion configuration, propeller setup, passenger/load and environmental notes, photos, comments, uploaded files, generated reports and other telemetry or metadata produced by the service. The exact data collected depends on the product, hardware configuration and features you use.
Account and professional-collaboration information
If authenticated SmartTrim Cloud or professional collaboration features are introduced, we may collect account credentials and profile information, vessel associations, sharing permissions, comments, recommendations, offer interactions and records of which participating professional accounts you authorize to access selected vessel or session information.
Consent and privacy-choice information
We store a first-party record of your privacy selections so the site can remember them. The current website implementation refreshes this choice after approximately 180 days or when the consent version changes.
3. How we use information
- Operate, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the website.
- Respond to inquiries and communicate about pilots, products, partnerships and other requests.
- Measure website traffic, engagement, performance and marketing effectiveness.
- Understand audiences and improve content, products and user experience.
- Perform attribution and campaign measurement.
- Create or use advertising audiences and conduct remarketing or retargeting when permitted by law and by your privacy choices.
- Prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents and comply with legal obligations.
- Analyze vessel and test-session information, generate reports, improve products and develop performance models where permitted and consistent with the applicable product notice or agreement.
- Enable customer-directed sharing and collaboration with participating marine professionals, including propeller specialists, when those features are available.
- Establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, research, product planning and business purposes where permitted by law.
4. Cookies, analytics and advertising pixels
We use cookies, local storage, tags, pixels, SDK-like web technologies and similar tools. Google Tag Manager may be used to deploy and manage measurement and advertising tags. Depending on the tags we activate, third-party analytics and advertising providers may receive information about visits or interactions with SmartTrim.ai.
Optional technologies may support analytics, conversion measurement, audience creation, frequency management, advertising attribution, cross-site or cross-context behavioral advertising, and remarketing/retargeting. In jurisdictions that require prior consent for non-essential technologies, optional analytics and advertising storage are disabled until consent is given. Elsewhere, optional technologies may be enabled by default where permitted, subject to the site's privacy controls and applicable opt-out rights.
Necessary technologies used for security, network operation and remembering your privacy choices remain enabled because the site needs them to provide those functions.
5. Advertising, sale, sharing and targeted advertising
Walker Marine Technologies does not sell personal information for money as a core business practice. However, some privacy laws define disclosures to advertising or measurement partners broadly enough that the use of advertising pixels, audience tools, cross-context behavioral advertising, or remarketing may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for “targeted advertising.”
Where applicable, you may opt out by selecting Do not sell or share my personal information, turning off Advertising & remarketing in privacy settings, or using a recognized browser-based universal opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control. When a GPC signal is detected, the site keeps advertising consent off while that signal is active.
6. Legal bases and regional consent
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss data-protection law, or similar rules apply, we process information under one or more lawful bases depending on the activity. For optional analytics and advertising technologies that require consent, we rely on consent. For security, fraud prevention, site administration and certain business communications, we may rely on legitimate interests, contractual steps, or legal obligations as appropriate.
You may withdraw consent at any time through the privacy settings link. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
7. Customer-directed professional sharing
Planned SmartTrim Cloud features may allow a customer to grant a participating marine professional, such as a propeller shop or tuner, access to selected vessel or test-session information. The intended design is permission-based: professional access is granted by the customer and can be limited or revoked through the available account controls. A professional may use information shared with them to review performance, communicate recommendations or provide requested services. Their own business records and communications may also be subject to their privacy practices.
We may use aggregated or de-identified vessel and performance information for product development, benchmarking, research and analytics where permitted by law and consistent with applicable product notices or agreements. We do not intend aggregated professional benchmarking to expose another customer’s directly identifying account information.
8. How we disclose information
We may disclose information to service providers and contractors that support website hosting, security, forms, analytics, advertising, communications, infrastructure, professional services and business operations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or with your direction or consent.
Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Their retention periods and use of identifiers may differ from ours.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries, maintaining business records, measuring performance, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements and meeting legal requirements. Analytics and advertising providers may maintain data according to the retention settings and policies configured for those services. Privacy preference records are generally refreshed after approximately 180 days or when the consent implementation changes.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection; withdraw consent; appeal certain decisions; or opt out of sale, sharing, profiling or targeted advertising. These rights are subject to legal exceptions and verification requirements.
To submit a privacy request, use the SmartTrim contact form and state that the message is a privacy request. Please do not send sensitive personal information through the form. We may need additional information to verify a request.
U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising or certain transfers of personal data. We honor recognized universal opt-out mechanisms when required.
EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in your country or region.
11. Children
SmartTrim.ai is intended for adults and business or boating audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this public website. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address the situation.
12. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Because Walker Marine Technologies is based in the United States and uses service providers that may operate in multiple countries, information may be processed outside your state, province or country, subject to applicable safeguards.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as products, website technologies, service providers or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes to optional tracking practices may also cause the site to request a new privacy choice.
14. Contact
For questions about this policy or to exercise a privacy right, use the contact form on SmartTrim.ai and identify your message as a privacy request.
